Since being seized by the customs authorities, Mally has been kept at the Munich Animal Protection League shelter. According to the shelter’s representative, her office had received two emails that appear to be from Justin Bieber’s management. The first email asked how long Justin Bieber’s management had to provide all the required papers before the monkey would be euthanized. The second email said they are currently looking for a great place for Mally in a zoo in Germany, and that the management is very concerned that the little monkey is safe and be placed in the best residence possible.
Fortunately, animals seized by customs authorities and placed in German shelters are not euthanized. However, Justin Bieber only has until May 17 to provide all the required papers for the little monkey before it becomes the property of the Federal Republic of Germany. But according to a source from Munich Tierschutzverein, the young pop star’s management has decided to give up Mally. The source said “They are asking us for a good home for Mally.” The source also added “We only can make a recommendation and we donŽt want to send Mally in the zoo, because the zoos will only publicize Mally…We want Mally in a rescue center or some organization for primates.”
